Silence ends with new book PR Means Business
PORTLAND (OREGON)…What’s the difference between a rat and a squirrel? The squirrel has better PR! And so begins a new book based on the tale of two REALTORS®, Rusty Regular and Rachel Rookie, who learn how public relations (PR) can add significantly to their real estate business without adding to their bottom line expenses. The continual omission of public relations strategies in real estate marketing compelled the two first-time authors to write PR Means Business for REALTORS.
“We can remain silent no longer. As public relations professionals, we can not sit on the sidelines and watch REALTORS® erode their bottom lines by investing their marketing dollars in everything from newspaper ads to fridge magnets, with little or no thought to how public relations can add significantly to their business without adding to their expenses,” said Catherine Martin, APR co-author of PR Means Business for REALTORS. “Basically, adding public relations strategies to a REALTORS® marketing war chest will result in more listings and sales - and in real estate, is there anything else?”
This new book, on a topic that no one has ever ventured to write about, is now available in the US by authors who know public relations, the real estate profession, and that the connection had yet to be made between the two. The fact that both authors have relatives who are full time REALTORS®, combined 30+ years in the public relations industry (including 12 years experience as the communications director at one of the largest real estate boards in Canada) proves that they know the profession and the professionals.
“There is a little Rusty and Rachel in every real estate professional,” added Joy Shikaze, APR co-author. “We see both the strengths and the challenges REALTORS® face in their day-to-day business operations and know that adding a few simple PR strategies can be very effective. If a real estate professional takes the time to set up a formal communications plan and applies just a few of the tips we’ve included in this book, they will notice a significant difference in their business.”
The book is published by Real Estate Publisher of Portland, Oregon and is available through www.PRmeansBusiness.com.
